Reading events will include presentations from the Afrosurreal Writers Workshop of Oakland, Bay Area Queer Writers, California Writers Club Berkeley, Horror Writers Association, Mystery Writers of America (NorCal), Women Who Submit, East Bay Science Fiction & Fantasy Writers Meetup, Addison Street Writers Circle, the Hayward Peer Writers, CSU East Bay Creative Writing Students, Chabot College Spanish and Creative Writing Students, Park & Longwood Elementary School Students, and the City of Hayward's Earth Day Poster & Writing Contest Winners.

We'll initially kick off the event at Hayward's Heritage Plaza across from the Downtown Hayward Library, with music by the East Bay Symphonic Band and Earth Day themed poetry by local poet laureates including Bruce Roberts and Germani Latchison. Visit tables to create your own blackout poetry, plant 100K trees, or learn about biking in Hayward.

At 4 PM, we'll hop through Downtown to a variety of readings over the next few hours at venues including the Odd Fellows Lodge, the World Famous Turf Club, Aranea Craft Studio, The Pizza House, Dirty Bird Lounge, The Bistro, The Stacks Record Shop, and Yoga Sociale.

Join us for the 7 PM After-Party at the Sun Gallery, food for purchase and refreshments, while viewing the Climate Change Art exhibit and listen to music by The Horizons Ensemble from East Bay Youth Orchestras.

This will be a fun way to gather, meet your neighbors and discover their talents, and hear some cool writing while supporting local businesses!
